Running off of my main server on the end of my broadband connection this website is about the first serious rendition of my own personal site, I've been through around four previous incarnations that repeatedly suffered from the "blank white page" syndrome, the previous version did actually "have legs" so to speak and did start making some sense but the detractions were obvious once I'd actually sat down and worked out what my requirements were...

1) Based on a pre-built, well thought out application architecture that should have content and document management and blogging as core objectives.
2) Secure, robust and regularly patched, preferably packaged to some extent in RPM form.
3) Scalable and integrated with common caching approaches.
4) Extensible with a well documented plug-in architecture.
5) Good community support.
6) Well documented internals that I shouldn't need to do anything more to than "tweak".
7) Standards compliant and accessible by design with excellent code and content separation.
8) Excellent support for and at least several independent skins and themes.
9) No hint of lock-in, either to the application itself a specific web-server or choice of database, supporting at least two of each even if one is only semi-production.
10) Free and open.
11) Well documented features, installation and maintenance process.
